Gothic Romance

I am always a fan of a little romance but why not throw a little Gothic in too? I was able to bring a few pieces for Vanessa ( Alchemyfineevents) installment for her art history series that are featured being on Style unveiled. It took place at the beautiful Grand Del Mar in San Diego,ca. and was shot by the sweet and too cute Jill Thomas. I did get a little more excited though when I saw what hair and make up done by katwalk styling came up with… it was drama, drama, drama…my favorite!

I loved this large arrangement from Isari flower studio…so gorgeous. Our model for the day had tatoos that I thought worked perfectly to add that edge for our gothic inspiration.

Desserts provided by opera patisserie with a great backdrop of the church pane.

Shipwreck shoot for Nonpareil Magazine

I was beyond ecstatic when I got asked by Cortnie from canvasandcanopy to help on this amazing inspiration shoot for Nonpareil magazine for their December issue! She knew I would have a few pieces that would fit for the shoot but Cortnie definitely worked her magic and gathered it all herself! When we got to the location ( Santa Barbara museum ), I kept getting distracted as our photographer Elizabeth Messina also brought some insane antique pieces…okay maybe I was drooling! It was definitely an all day event and although tedious I just love setting it all up! I was blown away by all of the vendors who collaborated on this shoot, you could tell they were all very excited about the creativity and unexpectedness of the shoot! Here are some images I just could not live without:

Hair and make up by Fiore Beauty was flawless. I was in love with this necklace and Cortnie chose the most perfect dress to channel this “Shipwreck/bohemian” feel.

Flowers were by La Partie events, and headpiece by Lo Boheme. The table set up shown below was so whimsical… and FULL of amazing details.

One of my favorite details was the hand dyed yarn that Cortnie made for the chairs.

Art history for brides: Greco Roman

I love to be involved in unique shoots and when I got an email from Vanessa to add some props for her Art History for Brides series… I thought how fun! I instantly did some research and I was surprised to also realize I had some cool Greek pieces already! Vanessa did a great job getting us all together and again everyone was so nice and fun to work with! Jill Thomas did an amazing job taking the photos… here are a couple of my favorites:

Isari flower studio did an awesome job with the flowers, the colors were perfect with just right shade of periwinkle blue… a popular Greek color. I also loved the blue striped pillow Vanessa made, it just popped in the photo above! I am also a girl who loves her accessories so I was in love with the metallic headpiece sent from Rachelleigh from NYC!

Vanessa and I were able to mix our dishware together for this Greek inspired setting! We added my coveted lion head pin to the dinner plate to add a little more detail. I also was kind of obsessing over my tassels and found a home for them tied around one of my white chairs.

Vanessa (Alchemy fine events) just nailed the Greek vibe perfectly with these invitations!

Katwalk styling did the hair and make up. LOVED the fishtail braid!!!! The dress was from Allyson Simone of Provence bride. Our model (who is also a dancer) wore this dress to perfection… the back of this dress was daring but had that right amount of Greek feeling to it.

Martha Stewart: Hollywood Regency metallic series

Where do I begin…its Martha Stewart…I am still pinching myself! I was so excited when I got the call from Cortnie from canvas and canopy saying she needed a few of my props for this Metallic Hollywood Regency shoot that was going to be featured on Martha Stewart’s blog. Leila Khalil of Be Inspired PR gathered up a bunch of gifted wedding vendors to collaborate on this shoot. So of course I said when and where and gathered all the items that I thought would fit the whole vibe of the shoot. I could not wait to begin! When I got to Shade hotel I was blown away by all the amazing people that collaborated for this shoot! I have to say, I had a blast! Was I really working? Then the best part… the photos. They were all taken by talented Jose Villa . They were absolutely gorgeous. I tried so hard to narrow down for this post so here are a few of my favs:

Carissa from JL designs made the most amazing flower arrangements, the colors were so perfect for this Metallic series. The flowers truly stole she show or (shoot) I should say. I was also dying over the vintage china! They were provided by Jason from Small Masterpiece.

The gorgeous couple Troy and Aimee Grover who were our models for the day. I was in love with this sequin dress… so fun and flirty! Hair and Make up was done by the lovely Erica from 1011 makeup…

The hairpiece was made by Carissa. I just love her creativity. It just goes to show, how one simple piece can make such a statement!

The desserts were made by Cupcakes Couture. We mixed in some of Jason’s dishware and a few of my gold chargers. Of course we were happy to taste these awesome creations after… they were sooooo good!

The stationary was made by Kristy from Momental designs…

Last but not least…my awesome props! I was so pleased to see how well they all went with the whole look. I have 2 of these vintage stools, they are one of my favorite finds.

A vintage candelabra… definitely Hollywood Regency.

I was trying so hard to find a way to hang this chandelier of mine! Where we were shooting it just did not work, but Jose was so sweet to take a couple photos of it…Love!

My vintage drinking cart and head bust (aka Fabio). Cortnie made the cutest greyhound drinks…

Cortnie made these great DIY mirrored name tags with Carissa adding on the gold succulent.

Is it August already?

I really can’t believe it is! I must make it to the beach a few more times before it is over. Every time I see a blue colored vase or bottle it makes me think of the ocean. I can’t seem to stop buying them! The one pictured above is new and of course along with my other vases can be rented! Have a great day…

Vintage Poster

My parents are going through the process of cleaning out their garage but this always means walking down memory lane! Only in my more adult years though, I am becoming more interested in their “collectibles”. So I had a blast going through a bunch of stuff and found this giant poster of the Beatles! I instantly thought this would make an awesome print to act as a headboard! Yeah you may have to be a huge fan… but if framed this has great potential for wall art again!
